Before & After Surgery
Before surgery, OHC can provide you and your family or caregivers with a PRE-SURGERY CHECKLIST to help you get ready. This free checklist includes:
- home safety recommendations
- family/caregiver preparation for coming home
- important information on what to expect when you get home, including activity restrictions, movement and weight-bearing

After surgery, our team will arrange a home visit with you on the day after your discharge from the hospital. Our RN will assess your post-op progress.
Our physical therapist will visit and go over your home rehab program, including:
- surgical dressings
- proper positioning of leg, knee and hip areas
- appropriate activities
- activity restrictions
- progressive exercise
- general safety guidelines
- pain control
- specific precautions
- and any other questions you may have.
Skilled RNs manage our unique Anticoagulation Program, if your surgeon orders blood-thinning medication. With state-of-the-art technology for bedside testing and tracking, your nurse will monitor your medications, and perform all lab tests and use remote reporting of your test results to your doctor within minutes.
